Shawangunk Valley Firehouse Expansion
With grant funding from the New York State Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the Shawangunk Valley Fire District is excited to embark on a building renovation to allow room for additional emergency response apparatus, storage of medical supplies, a gym/training facility for members, as well as a building exhaust system to improve the health of emergency responders.
We will be seeking qualified, licensed General Construction, Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing firms to support the building expansion. We strongly encourage MWBE firms to apply.
The original deadline for submissions was April 13, 2026 at 5:00 PM, but the bids received exceed the budgeted amount for the project. As a result, the Board has determined that it is in the best interest of the Fire District to reject all bids in accordance with New York State General Municipal Law. Given the current budget constraints, the project as bid is not awardable in its present form. The current drawings and plans are here: Shawangunk Firehouse Draft Drawings - March 26, 2026
The Fire District is currently evaluating revisions to the project scope and will look to re-bid in May of 2026.
