The Shawangunk Valley Fire Company is an all-volunteer organization that operates the fire company and emergency medical services (EMS).

The Shawangunk Valley Fire District is an independent, publicly-funded entity established to fund and oversee fire and EMS operations. It is run by a Board of Commissioners. The current District Commissioners are: Larry Smith, Ted Zaoutis, Chris Budney, Jerry Pratt, and Brian Van Cleeck. The Secretary/Treasurer is Kathy Miller.
